3-Ingredient Mask To Tighten, Brighten & Lighten Your Skin Tone!

This DIY skin-lightening mask works by penetrating deep into the skin layers, sloughing off dead skin cells, unclogging pores and brightening the skin complexion.

Ingredients included in this mask are avocado, lemon and egg. Avocado contains vitamins B, E and amino acids. Vitamin B helps prevent acne and vitamin E blocks free radicals, slowing the skin's ageing process.

Lemon juice contains citric acid that dissolves the dead skin layer on skin, cleanses pores of impurities and lightens blemishes on skin. Plus, it has a high ratio of vitamin C that brightens the complexion.

Egg, on the other hand, is packed to the brim with proteins that boost the collagen level of the skin, which thus repairs damaged skin cells and promotes regeneration of new skin tissues.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to remove wrinkles and lighten your skin tone naturally.


Step 1:

Take 1 egg. Separate egg white from the yolk. Beat the egg white into a frothy consistency and keep it aside. Keep the egg white in the refrigerator for a few minutes, until you prepare other ingredients.


Step 2:

Take 1 avocado and remove the seed. Using a fork, mash it into a smooth paste. You can also put it in a blender and whip into a fine pulp.


Step 3:

Mix egg white and the avocado paste together. Next, add a teaspoon of lemon juice to the mask. Using a fork, stir it well until all the ingredients blend together.


Step 4:

You can also add a teaspoon of pure honey to the mask. Honey is a rich source of amino acid, which hydrates skin, and anti-bacterial properties that keep skin free of any bacteria.


Step 5:

Cleanse your skin with plain water to remove the day's impurities. In case if you have any makeup on, use a mild cleanser to wash your face. Pat dry.


Step 6:

When your face is still slightly moist, apply a thin coat of the mask. Apply it evenly to your face and neck, leaving the area around your eyes. Let it sit for 20 minutes.


Step 7:

Once the skin-brightening mask becomes dry, spritz some water onto your face. When the mask loosens, scrub in a circular motion and then rinse with plain water.


Step 8:

Massage your skin with an oil-free moisturiser. Massage for a minute or two, it will help stimulate blood flow and give a rosy glow to your skin!


Handy Tips

The mask when kept out will immediately change colour. So, if you have any leftover, store it in an air-tight container and place it in the refrigerator.

If you have extremely dry skin, reduce the lemon content and increase honey.
