Sleep is important for your well-being. Not having a good night sleep makes your day tiring and you tend to get fatigued. During sleep all the body organs are healed, new cells are formed and dead cells are removed.
A person who is unable to have a sound night sleep may fall ill and can be targeted by many diseases. The stress hormone cortisol is also increased in the body which makes you stressed-out during the entire day. If you don't sleep in the night you will be disorganised, restless and confused.
Getting a good night sleep is a boon and people who have a peaceful sleep during nights have strong immunity and are mentally alert.

When you are tired during the day, your body sends signal to the brain that it needs rest. The sleep center in the brain gets activated and you fall asleep.

Having Serious Conversations
When you start arguing during the bedtime, your mind will be full of thoughts, mostly negative ones. You will get irritated and agitated. A research has shown that fighting with someone at bedtime will preserve the negative emotions until you wake up.
Don’t Read A Curious Story
Reading a novel or any book before going to sleep makes you fall asleep quickly. However, if you start reading very interesting or some story having a curious plot, you will continue to read it. In this way you will get little time to sleep as you will be busy reading it.
Exercise
Exercise is important to stay fit and healthy. However, doing workout three or lesser hours before going to sleep deprives you of sleep. There will be increase in body temperature due to the exercise and you won't fall asleep. This is among the things you need to avoid before sleeping.
Browsing Internet
Using laptop and watching TV before going to bed reduces your ability to sleep. The light coming from the computer and TV screens decreases the production of hormone called melatonin, responsible for making youfall asleep. Avoid all kinds of screen lights including mobile phones that disrupt your sleep.
Work At Bed Time
Doing any sort of office work at bed time alerts the brain and keeps it active. It also makes you stressed which will kill your sleep. Avoid these hectic things before sleep.
Beverage Intake
Any beverage such as tea or coffee contains caffeine which stimulates brain and prevents sleep. This is the reason you prefer to have tea or coffee during your exams when you need to keep yourself awake during the night. Avoiding all kinds of drinks before sleep is one of the best tips for getting a sound sleep.
Hot Shower
Taking hot bath raises the body temperature making it difficult to fall asleep. During sleep the body temperature decreases and taking hot shower disrupts the body temperature and you may stay awake during the night.
Over Eating
Over eating during dinner may result in scary dreams which will result in disturbed and incomplete sleep. Eating unhealthy also makes you to dream badly. So eat healthy and light dinner for a sound sleep.
Playing With Kids
If you encourage your kids to play on bed for hours then it disrupts yours as well as their sleep. Make sure you narrate bedtime stories to your kids kids so that their brain learns to sleep at a proper time. This will also relax your brain and all of you will have a good night sleep.
Stop Worrying
It is natural that all the worries and stress encountered during the day are recalled at the bed time when we tend to relax and get a break. However, this will have a devastating effect on your sleep. It is better to jot down all your worries in a note pad so that you will get relieved and fall asleep quickly.
