When a woman is pregnant, she goes through a number of cravings. There are some pregnant women who crave for raw vegetables during their pregnancy and as per old myths, it is said that raw vegetables consumed during pregnancy is not good for the foetus.
However, research shows today that when a pregnant woman consumes raw vegetable she is taking a lot more of proteins and minerals.

However, a lot of raw vegetables contain bacteria and hemagglutinins, which disrupts red blood cell function in the body. Therefore, before you consume your favourite veggie, it is best you soak it in a good amount of salt water to remove and kill the germs present in it.

Broccoli

It is safe to eat raw vegetable during pregnancy, especially asparagus. In one serving of asparagus, you are feeding your foetus with a good amount of folate necessary for brain development.

Peas
A tablespoon of raw peas is safe to raw during pregnancy. Raw peas contain folate, which aids in strengthening the spine of the foetus.

Spinach
When you are pregnant, one of the safe raw vegetable during pregnancy you can consume is spinach. It is not only rich in iron but also rich in folate, which is needed for the all-round development of the foetus.

Collard Greens

Cauliflower
Too much of cauliflower will form gas in your tummy, so it is best to consume only a small portion of it during pregnancy. On one hand, this raw vegetable is safe during pregnancy as it contains omega-3 fatty acids needed for the neurological development.

Brussels Sprouts
Only Brussels sprouts can be eaten raw during pregnancy as this too contains omega-3 fatty acids good for the development of the foetus.
