Calcium Rich Fruits For Pregnant Women
When you are pregnant, you need to eat certain foods that are not only healthy, but provides essential nutrients and minerals. For example, calcium is one of the minerals that is required for the healthy development of the growing foetus.
Calcium helps build strong bones and teeth of the growing baby. Calcium is also required during pregnancy to foster the healthy heart, nerves, and muscles of both the mother and baby. If you do not eat calcium-rich foods during pregnancy, your baby will draw all the required calcium from your body which will affect your health.
So, it is very crucial to include calcium-rich foods in your pregnancy diet. However, there are many women who feel that calcium is only derived from foods and healthy beverages. But dairy products are not the only sources of calcium. During pregnancy, women love to indulge in freshly cut fruits. So, if you love fruits and want to eat calcium-rich fruits in your pregnancy diet, then there are certain fruits to add in your diet list.
Calcium-rich fruits like oranges, mulberries and kiwi can be included in your pregnancy diet. They are healthy as well as nutritious. Similarly, dried fruits like dried figs, prunes (dried plums) and dried apricots can be included in the pregnancy diet as these fruits are also rich in calcium.

Calcium-Rich Fruits For Pregnant Women:

Dried Figs
One cup serving of dried figs provides 241mg of calcium. Dried figs also contain abundant amount of 0mega-3 fatty acids and zinc which makes it healthy for pregnant women.

Dates
According to old wives tales, having dates can reduce the duration of labour. It is also rich in calcium. One date has 15.36mg calcium in it.

Kumquats
This calcium-rich fruit can be eaten during pregnancy and can even be included in the postnatal diet.

Dried Apricots
This calcium-rich fruit is considered as a superfood for pregnant women. Dried apricots also contain iron, folic acid and potassium which makes it a healthy snack.

Oranges
The citrus fruit is rich in vitamins especially Vitamin C, and calcium. One orange has around 60mg of calcium which makes it a nutritious fruit for pregnant women.

Prunes
Prunes are dried plums which is a calcium-rich fruit. If you suffer from constipation during pregnancy, try this home remedy.

Mulberries
This is another calcium-rich fruit. However, there are many people who think that mulberries should not be consumed during pregnancy while other women deny it. So, consult your gynecologist before introducing it in your diet.

Kiwi
This is another superfood to have during pregnancy. Apart from calcium, kiwi is also rich in Vitamin C (as much as orange).
