Avoid These Fruits During Pregnancy
Though fruits are good for health, not all of them are safe to eat during pregnancy. As your immunity gets impacted during pregnancy, stay away from some fruits mentioned in this post.

It is believed that fruits are good for health in general. Of course, that is true but not during pregnancy. Yes, there are a few fruits to avoid during pregnancy!

When you are pregnant, your body undergoes many physiological changes. And this impacts your immunity too. That is the time when your body tends to be vulnerable to microorganisms and infections.
Some fruits may cause food-borne illnesses. And any illness during pregnancy could affect the well-being of both the mother and the child. Therefore, it is better to avoid some fruits. Here are they:
Fruits to avoid during pregnancy:

Papaya: Pregnant women should avoid eating papaya as it can lead to miscarriage or early labor. Unripe and semi-ripe papayas are rich in latex which leads to uterine contractions.

It is believed that ripe papayas are good to eat during pregnancy as they are rich in vitamin C and nutrients which cures pregnancy problems like heartburn and constipation. Papaya mixed with honey and milk is an excellent tonic for pregnant woman during lactation. To be on the safer side, avoid having papayas.

Black grapes: Medical professionals advice that pregnant woman should avoid fruits like grapes. Black grapes are one of the fruits to avoid during pregnancy specially during the first trimester as it builds heat in the body which is harmful for the baby. It also causes various other health issues that pregnant women should be well aware of.

Pineapples: Avoid this fruit during the pregnancy stage. Pineapples are rich in bromelain which can soften the cervix thus leading to early labor.
Pregnant woman can have few slices of pineapple but not during the first trimester. To induce labor you can have ample of pineapple juice but it is advisable to consult your doctor before deciding as eating pineapple during pregnancy can be very dangerous.

It is very important to avoid unwashed and unpasteurized fruits or vegetables during pregnancy. This will prevent the pregnant woman from getting infections from toxmoplasmosis.
