Each and every one of us has felt some kind of pain at one point of time or another. Most of us suffer from some kind of pain or another and would do our best to get rid of it. As it is a common thing that almost everybody suffers from, there are certain myths doing the round regarding the different causes of pain and ways to get rid of it.
Your joint pain can worsen with weather conditions. When it rains or gets cold, your pain increases, and this is not your imagination. People who suffer from arthritis have felt this the most. This is because of the change in barometric pressure. This affects the joint pressure and worsens the pain.

Contrary to belief, one should not take long periods of rest when they have back pain. If you take rest during this time, your back pain will increase. Instead, remain active and go for some stretching exercises and yoga.
If you want to get rid of pain in the knees and hips, then you must lose weight. Your extra weight puts pressure on these areas and your pain increases. So, less weight means less pressure and in the long run, less pain.
When you go through a number of tests and your doctor is not able to find the cause of your pain, it does not mean that it is only your imagination. Sometimes it is not possible to find the cause of the pain. When you suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia, you suffer from consistent pain but fail to realize the cause.

When you suffer from minor pain now and then, the tendency is to go for pain killers. Once you get relief, you forget about it. However, these types of pain should not be ignored. If the pain lasts for more than a week, see the doctor immediately. It could be a sign of something that is really affecting your body in a negative way.
