A strict workout regimen is something that becomes imperative, in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. But the million dollar question here is, "Do we like it?" Well! For most of us the answer is likely to be a big "NO".
For most of us, hitting the gym or exercising feels more like a "job" because of the effort we are required to put in. Instead, we look for an easier method where we do not have to flex muscles, stretch or jump.

A hectic lifestyle makes it even more difficult to find out the time for a workout. But, at the same time, a 9-5 job and unhealthy eating habits can lead to an increase in the waistline much to our dismay!
Thus, a healthy lifestyle becomes absolutely necessary to keep weight-related problems and other diseases away because as they say, "A stitch in time saves nine".
There is no magic mantra for weight loss. However, there is no denial of the fact that the more calories you burn, the more weight you'll lose.
But, for a lazy species like us is there any short-cut method to help us achieve our weight loss goals? Well, not really! To gain some you have to lose some.

An alternative to workout is having a balanced diet that must include healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean sources of protein.
But doctors say, a nutritional diet coupled with certain physical exercises like cycling, walking or even swimming can help in reducing weight more effectively.

1) Drink Lots Of Fluids:
Drinking water and other calorie-free beverages can help in keeping the body hydrated and also help prevent binge-eating or over-eating.

2) Have 6 Meals A Day:
You should have 3 main courses and 3 snack meals per day, in order to remain fit and you should certainly avoid junk food.

3) Fruit Consumption Is “Fruitful”:
Eating seasonal fruits containing natural sugars and fibre can help both in satisfying your sweet tooth as well as keeping the stomach full.

4) Follow A Wholesome Diet Of Whole Grains:
Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato and brown rice should be consumed regularly, as they are all excellent sources of energy and nutrition.

5) Consume Less Salt:
Doctors suggest that we should consume less salt, as more sodium causes our body to retain water, which in turn can make us feel bloated and cause further weight gain.

6) Avoid Skipping Meals:
Skipping meals stops the body from breaking down the fat and starts breaking down the muscle tissues instead, which in turn prevents the body from burning calories.

7) Give Yourself A Treat Every Now & Then:
If you are attending a party, allow yourself an indulgence but these indulgences should not become your daily habits and you should go easy on it and not stuff yourself too much.

8) Walk Your Way To A Healthy Lifestyle:
While working for long hours, take small frequent breaks for a quick walk in between, as sitting for long hours at a stretch encourages the accumulation of fat in the body. Also, take strolls after heavy meals, so as to help you lose weight fast.
The important thing to remember is when you lose weight quickly, it seems to jump right back on, whereas when you lose weight steadily over time, it tends to stay off.
