Tomato Corn Rice Recipe

All you need

  • White Rice - 400 gms
  • Sweet Corn - 1 cup
  • Tomato puree- 1 cup
  • Onion - 1
  • Green Chilli - 2
  • Garlic - 6 pods (chopped)
  • Coriander - few strands
  • Garam Masala - ½ tsp
  • Turmeric - 1/4th tsp
  • Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
  • Channa Dal - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 10 nos
  • Sallt To Taste

15 Minute Tomato Rice With Peas Recipe

Procedure

  1. Add oil in a cooking pan, heat it. Add mustard seeds, channa dal, onion and crushed garlic pods in the hot oil.
  2. Stir well and add curry leaves and green chillies.
  3. Once the onion is golden add the tomato puree to it. Cook it for 2 mins.
  4. Add salt, garam masala, turmeric and sweet corn to the tomato puree and cook on medium flame for over 5 mins.
  5. Add the cooked rice to the gravy and mix well. Note that the rice should be half cooked or else it tends to become soft and soggy.
  6. Mix the rice evenly in the pan and cook it on low flame for over 2-3 mins.
  7. Your corn tomato rice recipe is ready!
  8. Serve hot with chopped coriander and a slice of onion.
