When Annie Nilsson and Jared Fowler became proud parents of their daughter Elodie, she was healthy until one fine day when she fell ill.
Her Illness
The parent's happiness was short-lived as their happiness changed into horror in no time. Their daughter suddenly started to react in a bad way as her face swelled up and she started vomiting at home for no reason.
The Doctors Examined Her
It took quite some time for the doctors to analyse her condition as she was a healthy baby at birth. The medics finally discovered that she suffers from a very rare disease of obstruction of the lymphatic gut veins. Due to this, the lymph node fluid gets spilled over the child's body. She was diagnosed with intestinal lymphangiectasia.
About The Condition
Intestinal lymphangiectasia is a very rare disease of the small intestine which affects children and adults. In this condition, the lymphatic channels tend to be blocked as they become very dilated and even rupture and discharge their contents into the colon.
The Doctors Gave Her Viagra
Doctors started giving the little girl a dose of Viagra. This is the medication that is used for erectile dysfunction. The active chemical substance "Sildenafil" present in Viagra works well in the treatment of this condition.
The Dad Gives Her Viagra Everyday Now
Since the time the doctors have diagnosed her condition, her dad gives her two doses of Viagra each day as it helps in treating his daughter. The problem about the whole treatment is that insurance does not cover such treatment.
