Heard about the famous Onion halwa or the red ant chutney? There are a few more bizarre foods that only Indians eat! Take a look.
Indians love food and there is nothing that they would wish to compromise on. Be it the biryani or the chicken kebab from their favourite restaurant, they would always love to go a step ahead to taste it.

So, here are some of the most bizarre food items that people in India relish. We bet being Indians, most of us are not even aware of some of these food items.

The Onion Halwa
This is one of the weirdest halwas that one can taste, but the fact is, it is quite famous! To make this halwa, all you need to do is fry onions in butter or ghee and then add some milk and sugar and cook it on slow heat.

The Lamb's Brain!
This is considered to be the morning breakfast for many and is claimed to be very tasty. It is generally known as the "brain fry or bheja fry".

The Red Ant Chutney!
This delicious and tangy chutney is also known as Chaprah in Chhattisgarh. It is considered to be a much sought-after dish by the local tribals in Chhattisgarh.

The Baby Shark Curry!
Baby Shark Curry is a rare and expensive Goan dish that is being eaten in the origin. Of late, it has gained its popularity and is becoming one of the trending non-veg recipes.

The Bhang Pakora!
This is the most common food item that people make during Holi and Shivratri. It is a dish made using the cannabis leaves!

Daulat Ki Chaat!
A frothy cream dessert is referred to as God's own street food. It is generally made during winters by whisking milk for hours. It is more common in Delhi during winters.

The Dog Meat!
This might not please many, but dog's meat is quite popular in Mizoram and Nagaland. It is also said to be more costly than the Chicken meat!

Eri Polu
This yummy-looking dish is actually made by silk worm pupas. It is an exotic dish of the Indian state of Assam.

Black Rice
This black rice, which is commonly known as the magic rice, is greatly popular for its nutrients and health benefits. The rice is commonly eaten in Kerala, Manipur and parts of North Bengal.

The Benami Kheer!
Garlic is the main ingredient used to make this special benami kheer. The dish contains a nutty flavour, as crushed garlic is cooked for hours in milk to make this unusual kheer.
