Yes, a new study claims that a hot bath is as good as a 30-minute walk. Are you planning to stop going for walks in order to spend time taking a hot bath? Wait!
Here are some more facts about the comparative study conducted on exercise and hot water baths.

#1
As a apart of the study, researchers compared two groups of people. The first group was involved in a bicycle ride for one hour whereas the second group simply spent an hour in hot water bath (104 degrees F).

#2
Researchers focused more on raising the body's temperature. Both of the activities do the same. But what surprised researchers was that the hot water bath was able to burn almost 130 calories!

#3
You will be able to burn roughly around 130 calories if you go for a walk for 30 minutes. Of course, cycling burns more calories than the hot bath.

#4
This study also reveals that hot water baths could also reduce the blood sugar levels!

#5
Another interesting finding was that hot water baths also seem to give the anti-inflammatory effect that exercise gives!

#6
Don't jump into any conclusions so fast as the study was conducted only on men and we don't know how far this study applies to women.

#7
Also, the role of exercise can never be underestimated even if hot baths seem to burn a few calories. So, keep going for walks but, when the weather doesn't permit your daily walk, rest in a hot bath and burn a few calories!
