Women Should Avoid Doing These When They Have Periods; It Is Harmful
There are certain things that one needs to avoid in order to have a pain free normal menstruation. A few of these precautionary measures are explained here.
Women and periods are two inseparable constituents as soon as they reach puberty. For a few it comes without any pain but for a few it becomes a nightmare as the pain gets so excruciating, that all they want at that point of time is to just kill themselves.

In addition to the abdomen cramps and pain, a few women also experience excess menstrual flow, mood swings, terrible back pain, headache and irritation. All this not just causes discomfort but it affects their movement and day-to-day activities as well. For a few it gets so bad that they need to be confined to their bed during this time of the month.

Stomach bloating during periods is caused due to retention of water in the tissues. This further leads to pain and other related conditions. This might not be too serious an issue but if this continues over a period of time then it might lead to infertility among women.
Here is a list of a few things that women should avoid doing when they are on their periods. Take a look.
1. Cold Water Bath:
If you are on your periods then you should never make the mistake of taking bath with cold water. It will further aggravate the pain. It is always advisable to take bath with warm water, and also applying hot water bag on the abdomen helps relieve pain and cramps.
2. Taking Pain Relieving Tablets:
If you have excruciating pain while on your periods do not make the mistake of taking tablets like asprin. This will cause an increase in bleeding.
3. Unhealthy Foods:
Foods that are oily and rich, consisting of lot of fat and which lack in fibre need to be totally avoided. This will further lead to bloating of the stomach and cause more uneasiness among women during their menstruation.
4. Drinking Soda:
Drinking soda that is rich in caffeine content, artificial sugar, fructose and other preservatives should be totally avoided if you are menstruating. This will lead to stomach bloating and cause uneasiness.
5. Salty Foods:
It is important to avoid highly salty food when you are on your periods. Foods that are rich in salt content will cause stomach bloating. This will make you uncomfortable and lazy as well.
6. Stress:
Stress is one of the major factors that affects periods in women. Several studies have shown that if the mind is relaxed it eases the period cycle. Hence, women should keep themselves away from stress during their periods. Following certain relaxing exercises helps during this time.
