Your body depends on your liver to throw out the toxins. It works so hard to remove the toxins in your blood and stores nutrients. When the liver fails, your body might fail to digest or absorb fats.
There are certain symptoms which might indirectly tell you that your liver is not happy with you. If you see any of them it is better to consult a doctor and get yourself tested. The symptoms are: gas, bloating, constipation, acid reflux, high BP, yellow skin and eyes, dark urine and stool, lack of appetite, sweating, fatigue and depression.

Now, here are some simple steps to help your liver. Consult your doctor before you try any home remedies.

Step 1: Cut Toxic Foods
Cut processed foods. Refined sugar and hydrogenated oils are toxic. Avoid foods that contain preservatives or added colours. Apart from staying away from liquor, cutting processed foods is the first step to be taken to cleanse your liver.

Step 2: Eat More Vegetables
Raw vegetables do a good job in cleansing your system. As you may not be able to munch too many raw vegetables, drink juice of a variety of vegetables. The best ones that help in liver-detox are cauliflower, brussels sprouts and cabbage. Beetroot, cucumber, carrot and leafy greens can also be added. They reduce the acid levels in your system.

Step 3: Get Some Potassium
Experts recommend nearly 4700 mg of potassium a day. Foods rich in potassium do cleanse the liver and also minimise cholesterol and support your heart. Most of us are not aware that even sweet potatoes are rich in potassium. They are also rich in fibre, beta carotene, Vitamins, iron and magnesium.

Step 4: Eat Tomatoes
Get fresh organic tomatoes and eat them like a salad. Actually, many suggest that a tomato sauce or puree contains the nutrients in concentrated form, but the preservatives in them are the problem.

Step 5: Eat Leafy Greens
Leafy greens are rich in anti-oxidants as well as potassium. Spinach contains as much as 840 mg of potassium in a serving.

Step 6: Include Beans
Almost all types of beans from kidney beans to white beans contain potassium, protein and fibre too.

Step 7: Rely On Bananas
We all know that bananas are rich in potassium. In fact, they help your body get rid of toxins, heavy metals and the wastes efficiently. That is why they are a part of the liver cleanse.
