Cancer in women can be a result of various factors. Women can get cancer due to their lifestyle choices, certain factors in their environment that are toxic enough to cause cancer and sometimes it is a result of the family that they are born into which has a history of people suffering from cancer.

Women suffer the most from breast cancer. The factors responsible for breast cancer include family history, age, race, type of breast tissue, radiation treatment, post menopausal hormone therapy, birth control pills, lack of exercise, heavy drinking, excess weight, not breast feeding, not being pregnant till thirty years of age, etc.
The next type of cancer is lung cancer. These can be caused by exposure to second hand smoke, tar, poisonous gas and soot. This type of cancer can be prevented by staying away from such things. Family history can also be a cause.
Women also suffer a lot from colon and rectum cancer. Causes can range from family history to smoking and drinking, along with a diet rich in processed food and devoid of enough roughage in the form of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Many women suffer from uterine cancer. The factors responsible are obesity, hormone therapy, medication for breast cancer, age, family history, diabetes, birth control pills, multiple pregnancies, thickening of the uterine lining, polycystic ovarian syndrome and more than the normal number of menstrual cycles.

Women also tend to suffer from the cancer of the lymphatic system. The causes responsible are a weak immune system, autoimmune diseases, age and exposure to certain chemicals.
Hence, in order to stay healthy and cancer free women must make certain changes in their lifestyle and follow a healthy diet and exercise regime.
