Know Vegetables Are Great For Health But Yet Hate To Eat Them? Here Are 12 Way To Change Your Habit
We all love to eat junk food, isn't it? And just like that, we hate to have vegetables that are our real friends, the prime reason being their 'boring' taste.
The same applies to adults as well as children, the latter even find it more difficult to convince themselves of consuming vegetables.

But how to go about this problem then? How to make ourselves and our kids eat vegetables?
There are actually ways to make our way of seeing at 'dull and drab' vegetables different and include them in our diet willingly and not just because our parents or the doctors force us to.

Here we discuss some of them:
1. Make the vegetables tasty just like those mouth-watering dishes:
Cooking is very important when it comes to preparing vegetable dishes. Taste matters a great deal, as nobody likes to have steamed vegetables and their stew unless they are ill. Cook vegetables like non-vegetable items through experimenting with different ingredients. Even steamed vegetables can be attractive to eat if taken with the right sauce.
2. Involve everybody, from marketing to cooking:
This is a nice way to increase the vegetable consumption in your family. From shopping the vegetables till gobbling everything up, make it a point to involve all in the process. Make the journey a funny one, so that all members finally chip in by eating whatever they all prepared together. A home picnic of sort!
3. Pick more veg food packets at stores:
Non-veg pulls us more than veg, but whenever you are picking up food packets at a store, since you are habituated now, try to give the veg packets also a chance. Through this, you can use your habit in a more helpful way.
4. Add fruits and vegetables to your family menu:
Even if your family prefers non-veg dishes, add vegetables and fruits to them, in shredded or sliced forms, so that the kids and others consume them unknowingly while relishing meatballs or egg rolls.
5. Try to be trendy when having vegetables:
Instead of going after expensive but valueless drinks or junk food outside, experiment with vegetables and fruits by mixing this with that to make a nice juice of smoothie liked by all.
6. Don’t force to eat vegetables, allow a ‘no’ instead:
There is no point forcing people, especially kids, to eat vegetables during meal time. Try to introduce a fresh vegetable or fruit to make it interesting for kids and set an example for them by eating the vegetables yourself first.
7. Put more vegetables in front of the eyes:
Often, we search for cold drinks and other outside snacks in the house refrigerator whenever we feel hungry or want to pass time. Instead of filling up your fridge with packaged foods picked from store racks, keep more vegetable pieces for the food hunters to chase their preferences. They will get used to the new food habit in some time.

8. Drink juice:
If you don't like having full vegetables, make their juice chilled with ice and other herbal ingredients and consume it. This way, too, you can make up for the loss.
9. Have food together:
It is always helpful in having family meals together. Even togetherness during breakfast or afternoon snack is good to teach kids better food habits. Kids and also adult members eat a lot more health stuff if all or many members sit together. As you gossip and eat, the focus shifts from what ‘boring' stuff you are eating. Try not to concentrate on your phone during this time.
10. Tell stories:
This is a particularly a good strategy to make kids eat more vegetables. Instead of instructing them "eat this", tell them how one particular vegetable makes them strong in some respect. Teach the kids about the advantages of having vegetables. They are quick and intense learners.
11. Buy vegetables of your choice:
Do not buy vegetables that you don't like, just for the sake of it. Instead, buy vegetables that you prefer to eat (all of us have some preference or the other). This way, you can at least get the nutrients of one particular variety. After all, all vegetables are helpful in some way.
12. Don’t try to be a vegetarian by force:
A lot of us may think of turning fully vegetarian, since we hear the ‘evergreen' celebrities have done so. That is not a correct way of thinking. Changing your food habit by force can not only deprive you of essential requirements but also make you lose interest in your food. That can be dangerous.
