Cures For Sleep Deprivation

Lack of sleep is caused due to a lot of reasons like stress, age, anxiety, tension etc. Anything which is keeping your mind at an alert state can cause sleep deprivation.
Sleep should not be avoided, as it is needed for the proper working of your mind and body. Sleep provides you mind and body the adequate rest required to refresh and get prepared for the challenges of the day. Here are tips to cure sleep deprivation -
1.Activity – Make sure you keep your body active. Physical activity allows your body to get rid of stress and thus helps it to get relaxed. All kind of work is not stress reliever, for example your office work can actually be the cause of your stress. In that case it is advised to take up exercise. This work all the stress out of your system and thus, ensures you good sleep.
2.Practice your hobby before bedtime – Before you get to bed, do what you like the best. It maybe reading a book, go for a walk, listening to music etc. Practising your hobby gives a sense of self satisfaction and contentment. Your hobby will lull you to sleep.
3.Routine Your Lifestyle – On of the major reasons for sleep deprivation is faulty lifestyle. You should always maintain a routine of the day. You should fix a time to go to bed. Your right time to sleep will make other factors of your lifestyle fall into place.
4.Breathing Exercise – This is a old remedy but works till date. After lying on your bed, close your eyes and count your breath. In no time you will fall into a deep sleep.
5.Don't wait for sleep – Don't keep sitting in front of your TV because you are not feeling sleepy. Lie down and close your eyes. In some time you will feel much more relaxed and mentally steady. Once your body is relaxed, sleep is bound to come.
6.Concentrate – A sudden restriction in your lifestyle will make it difficult to fall asleep at a fixed time but the technique of concentration might help you to have a good sleep. Lie down, close your eyes and rewind a happy memory. Concentrate on the event. The positivity will relax your mind and overshadow all the negative thoughts. Thus, relaxing you and setting you off to a deep slumber.
Avoid taking sleeping pills to cure sleep deprivation. Sleeping pills gets your body habituated to the pill and at a later stage your body becomes completely dependant on the pill for sleep.
