Reheating food is a way of life. Be it your morning toast or your leftovers from last night dinner, our microwaves have become our best handy kitchen companions.

If you are wondering why foods need not be reheated? Then, it is because most of the ingredients contain compounds that become harmful or toxic when they are reheated. Studies reveal that reprocessing foods makes them lose their nutritional properties and enzymes, thereby making the food less nutritional.

This is the most common food that we reheat. High protein content present in chicken can cause several digestive problems, if you reheat it after a day or two. Spinach is rich in iron and full of nitrates. When it is reheated, these nitrates can get converted into nitrites and other carcinogens. Thus, making it a harmful choice of food. Make sure you never reheat it.



Eggs are a protein-rich staple food generally consumed during the start of a day. It should not be exposed to heat over and over again. Studies reveal that reheating eggs at high temperatures can cause them to become toxic and spoil your digestive system.



Mushrooms should generally be consumed on the same day due to their complex protein composition. It is not recommended that you reheat mushrooms even for a single time.
