Lauki ki kheer is a very simple and delectable recipe that could be had during vrats or fasts. It is a traditional North Indian delicacy that is prepared in most households.
Lauki, or bottle gourd, comes with immense health benefits for the body. Its rich dietary fibre content aids the digestive system and being low in fat and cholesterol content, lauki is an ideal vegetable to be included during vrats and also otherwise.
Ghiya ki kheer recipe is a simple preparation and wouldn't take a lot of your time.

LAUKI KI KHEER VIDEO RECIPE

Lauki - ½ (150 g)
Water - 2 cups
Ghee - ½ tbsp
Split cashew nuts - 1 tbsp
Milk - ½ litre
Sugar - 3 tbsp
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Kewra essence - 1 drop

1. Cut a full lauki into half, peel and grate it.
2. Take water in a pan and boil it.
3. Add the grated lauki and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Strain the water and keep the lauki aside.
5. Add milk into a heated pan and allow it to boil.
6. Meanwhile, add ghee in another heated pan.
7. Add the split cashew nuts and roast them until they turn light brown.
8. Then, add the strained lauki and stir well.
9. Once the milk boils, add it to the pan containing the lauki.
10. Allow it to cook for 5-6 minutes.
11. Add sugar and allow it to dissolve.
12. Then, add cardamom powder and a drop of the kewra essence.
13. Mix well and turn the stove off.
14. Transfer into serving cups.
- 1. You can add other dry fruits of your preference.
- 2. As soon as you grate the lauki, put it in water, if not, it starts to turn black.

STEP BY STEP - HOW TO MAKE LAUKI KI KHEER
