The Five First Signs Of Labour Approaching
Is that little trickle of fluid your water breaking, or is it just urine leaking because a seven-pound baby is resting on your full bladder?
Well, this is a grave confusion most pregnant women fail to understand, which is why Boldsky makes it easier for you to notice the first early signs of labour approaching. From contractions, to that uncomfortable feeling in the body, here are some of the signs you should not fail to ignore.
On the other hand, false labour pain is also similar to the real deal, so make sure you get your due date in with the help of a proper calculation, so as to be ready to welcome your bundle of joy into the world.
According to experts, moms who've been through it before can't always tell when labour is going to start. So, it is wise for second-time mums to read this article as well.
So, take a look at the first five signs of labour approaching:
The Water Breaking: If your water does break, you're likely to feel a small leak, not a big gush. This is because your baby's head prevents too much fluid from leaking out! Now, when this water breaks, you will experience the onset of contractions that are heavy and too painful to handle. This is a sign of labour approaching.
Nasty Contractions: When you feel like a tight band starting from the back and radiatesradiating across the front of your belly, it is the beginning of the contraction. Don't be fooled by false contractions called the Braxton Hicks, which occur in more than 1/3rd of the women.
Funny Discharge: The mucus plug or the runny smear is the fluid which is discharged as the cervix begins to dilate and soften in preparation for delivery of the baby. In some cases the blood vessels can also tear the cervix open which results to a bloody discharge. When this sign of labour is noticed, it could be a week or days for your baby to come out.
Diarrhea Problems?: During the early part of labour, your body begins to release prostaglandins. This release of prostaglandins also hyperstimulate the bowels, which causes the pregnant mother to pass frequent stools and in severe cases it leads to Diarrhea. If this happens, it is best to rush the mother to the labour room immediately.
Ache In The Back: For some women, back ache is a constant problem during pregnancy. However, When the pain becomes too harsh it is a sign of you experiencing back labour. The reason for this is the baby descends from the birth canal with its face/skull pressed against the mom's spine and this is the reason why the back hurts.
