Cut Down On The Intake Of Salt: Excessive salt intake causes fluid retention. Pregnant women must cut down on their intake of salt. A pregnant woman should also refrain from eating processed food, as it is high on salt content.

Reduce The Intake Of Carbohydrates: Carbohydrates also cause fluid retention in the body. Hence, pregnant women must reduce the intake of carbohydrates such as sugar and processed grains to avoid oedema.

Apple Cider Vinegar: The best way to treat ankle and feet oedema is by soaking the affected area in equal amounts of water and apple cider vinegar. Leave it for half an hour and take your feet off. Massaging the affected areas with vinegar also helps.

Coconut Oil: Coconut oil can also be used to treat oedema in pregnancy. Massage the swollen feet and ankles with some coconut oil. It helps to dry away the excess fluid build-up from the affected areas.
