Pregnancy Care For The 6th Month
Pregnancy is a time of great joy for all the family. It is a great cause of celebration as you prepare to bring a new life into the world. Nine months will actually fly by and before you know it, your bundle of joy will be in your arms.
But as the pregnancy progresses, the nine months seem gruelling and long. No woman is expected to do this her own. All the friends and family around her must help her in every which way they can.

As general advice for pregnant women, they need to eat nutritious food, avoid the harmful ones and keep up their health with regular exercises.
But each month of the pregnancy requires slight alteration in the care given to the pregnant woman as each month brings new developments to her body and the child growing within it.
During the 6th month, you are marking the end of your second trimester and preparing to enter the third trimester. When you are 6 months pregnant, it is also the stage when the child is able to survive outside the womb in theory in the case of pre-term labour. Here, we discuss the pregnancy care for the 6th month of pregnancy when your belly starts to get really big and the child also grows.

Fluid intake
The first pregnancy care for the 6th month is that the women should increase their fluid intake. Pregnant women must take care to drink a lot of fluids as their body is prone to dehydration, especially when they are 6 months pregnant.

Small frequent meals
Pregnancy care for 6th month also involves the frequency of meals consumed by the pregnant woman. She must be given small, but frequent meals so that her body finds it easier to digest, with the growing child pressing her stomach.

Spicy food
Six-months-pregnant women are also prone to heartburn since their body is pumping more blood to circulate the growing baby in the womb, but their blood pressure will remain normal. So they must avoid spicy food to prevent heartburn.

Exercise
With a bulging belly and more strain on your back due to the extra weight, many will feel like cutting down on exercise. But one important pregnancy care tip for the 6th month is that the woman should carry out mild exercises to build strength.

Avoid back strain
Your growing bump will impart anatomical variations to your body. Women should avoid straining their back so as to reduce further complications.

Avoid heels
Needless to say, all pregnant women will be far more comfortable in flat heeled shoes than stilettos. The pregnancy care for 6th month insists the women to forgo fashion and to think of your own safety and comfort and stick to flats.

Vaginal infection
At six months pregnant, women are susceptible for vaginal infection. To prevent this, make sure to wear clean cotton underwear and to wash your vagina from front to back after a trip to the toilet and pat dry.

Rest your body
A lot of pregnant women today are also working full-time. At the 6th month you may not yet have taken your maternity leave, but your body requires a lot of rest. Pregnancy care for 6th month insists you squeeze in as much rest as you can.
