Ways To Naturally Get Rid Of Muscle Tightening During Pregnancy
Here are ways to naturally get rid of muscle tightening during pregnancy.
The body of a woman undergoes so many changes right from the onset of pregnancy and it continues even after delivery. Due to this, a woman experiences many discomforts and muscle tightening is one among them. It is generally referred to as muscle cramps. Majority of women get the cramps in their legs - the calf muscles. For many others, cramps can occur in the abdomen.
Abdomen tightening can happen due to many reasons such as stretching of ligaments, baby's movement, constipation and others. These might not need much attention other than following the below-mentioned remedies.
Sometimes, the reasons can be placental abruption or preterm labour which call for medical attention. Abdomen tightening needs a visit to the doctor to determine the cause especially when it is during late pregnancy.
Calf muscle cramps happen because of less blood circulation. This usually happens during the night. It can also be due to lack of minerals, dehydration and lack of exercise. All of these can be resolved with the help of some natural household remedies.

Water
Any pregnant woman can get muscle cramps when the fluid content in the body is very low. This calls for hydration and just water is more than enough. It is a general recommendation that one must drink 8 glasses of water a day but for a pregnant woman the quantity is almost fifty percent higher.

Sesame Oil
A good massage with sesame oil is the best natural home remedy that one can find. It is even better when someone else does the massage.
Warm the oil quite a bit and apply on the affected area. Sesame oil has the property to penetrate all the seven layers of the tissue right to the bones and getting them back to form.

Clove Oil
Clove oil has anti-inflammatory and anaesthetic properties to relieve a person from muscle tightening. The oil must be slightly heated initially. A massage with the oil for over 5 minutes with firm strokes is important. This can be applied whenever necessary.

Increase Calcium And Potassium Intake
It is a well-known fact that calcium and potassium are very essential for the human body. Calcium strengthens bones and potassium improves muscles. Foods rich in these must be consumed more. They can be found in banana, milk, spinach, yogurt, orange, nuts and so on.

Epsom Salt Bath
This is the most relaxing thing that you can do to overcome muscle tightening. Deficiency of magnesium can be one of the reasons.
To get over with this, a bath with magnesium salt is recommended. It is nothing but Epsom salt. Two cups would do for a bath full of warm water. Bathe for 30 minutes by maintaining the same water temperature throughout.

Yoga
Yoga not only alleviates the pain from the muscles but also gives a calming and soothing effect to the body. It is recommended to consult a doctor regarding this prior to exercising. Paschimottanasana is considered the prominent among yogasanas to relieve calf muscle cramps. However, theArdha Hanumanasana or Half Front Splits pose is considered the best for pregnancy leg cramps.

Acupressure
This is the easiest of all home remedies for calf muscle cramps. It helps in relaxation to a great extent. Use your forefinger and thumb to pinch the bottom of your lip and squeeze it for 30 seconds. This can get rid of leg cramps very effectively than ever before.

Get Active
Pregnancy must never be equated to rest, unless in cases when the possibility of a miscarriage is high. One must keep moving around which helps to prevent muscle tightening. Heavy workouts are a complete no-no during pregnancy. So, just a stroll in the park or even inside the house is recommended. One must be careful not to sit and stand for long hours.
