Steps To Confirm Your Pregnancy
The news of pregnancy is a big one. You don't want to make an announcement and then make it appear like a false alarm. So it is very important to confirm your pregnancy. Several kinds of pregnancy tests are available these days. But none of these pregnancy tests can be considered conclusive without the doctor's advise and some patent clauses.
Before you inform your family and friends, make sure that your pregnancy is confirmed. A pregnancy is an emotional experience for you and your near-dear ones. If your pregnancy is not confirmed then it might cause you and your close ones grief. That is why, it is prudent for a series of pregnancy tests that will ascertain your pregnancy.
Many women might be surprised to know that there are many steps to confirm your pregnancy. The home pregnancy test kit is only the beginning that checks the levels of HCG hormone in the blood. It is more or less accurate but doctors still rely on a series of pathological steps to confirm a pregnancy. HCG is a pregnancy hormone that is present in a woman's body only when the foetus exists.
Here are some of the tests you need to go through in order to confirm your pregnancy and make an announcement.

Missed Period
The first sign of a pregnancy is a missed period. If you are at least 7 days due to have your menstrual bleeding, then you could be pregnant.

Faint Line
If you do a pregnancy home test 7 days after missing your period, you will get a faint line on the test meter. This means you could be pregnant but you still need to wait.

Symptoms
While you wait, you may experience some symptoms of pregnancy like nausea, vomiting and dizziness. This only indicates a possibility of pregnancy but does not confirm it.

Dark Line
Two weeks after you miss your period, you should be able to get a dark line on the pregnancy home test kit. Now its time to go to your gynec.

Visiting The Doctor
Show your gynec the pregnancy test you did at home. But remember, the doctor does not take this as the final word. He or she may prescribe some other tests as well.

Any Bleeding?
Meanwhile if you start bleeding or spotting, then you must report it to the doctor. It could mean an early miscarriage. But many a times a little bleeding can happen even when you are pregnant.

Pathological Test
Most doctors prescribe a pathological urine test to check the level of HGC hormone in the blood.

Blood HCG Levels
Blood tests to check the level of HCG hormone is more reliable than the urinary test. This is because the urine sample has to be collected in the morning or else it does not give accurate results.

General Blood Report
When your blood HCG is confirmed, you have to get a general blood scan done to check for diabetes, thyroid, platelets and hemoglobin that will tell you if you are healthy enough to carry on with the pregnancy.

Early Pregnancy Scan
An early pregnancy scan is usually done when you are 8 weeks pregnant. However, if you have symptoms like pain, bleeding etc, it might be done sooner. This pregnancy scan is to rule out chances of a tubal pregnancy that is not sustainable.
