Diet Basics During A Miscarriage
A miscarriage is usually a traumatic experience for a woman. And if the miscarriage takes place at a later stage in pregnancy, it becomes all the more threatening. But apart from the emotional trauma, your body also goes through a lot of physical trauma during miscarriage. You are losing blood and that is bound to impact your health.
So your diet during miscarriage needs to compensate for all the nutrients that your body is losing. After a miscarriage, some food are very essential for women. These foods during a miscarriage help to put the nutrients back into your body. This makes helps you heal faster. Your diet during miscarriage should be nutritious and also comfort you emotionally.

Here are some of the basic elements of a diet during miscarriage.
Milk
A pregnancy draws a lot of calcium from your body. And a miscarriage is waste of that accumulated calcium. A women's bones lose calcium very easily. That is why, milk is a must in a diet during pregnancy. Have at least 2-4 glasses of milk if you have miscarriage. It gives you calcium, proteins and phosphorus.
Diary Products
Many adults have a problem with having too much milk. If you are not able to have milk, then supplement your diet with diary products like cottage cheese, yogurt etc. You need to get calcium into your body in which ever way possible.
Leafy Green Vegetables
Your body also loses a lot of iron when you bleed during a miscarriage. You need to get the iron back from healthy means. So have lots of leafy greens preferably in the form of salads when you are bleeding.
Red Meat And Liver
Red meat and meat liver are also highly iron rich foods. You need to have these foods after a miscarriage to get your iron reserves up. If you are non-vegetarian, then have meat and liver so that you do not become anaemic.
Eggs
Your body tends to become very weak after you have miscarriage. You need to have foods that give you strength. Egg is one such food that packs a punch of fats, proteins and essential nutrients together. It is one of the best foods to beat weakness.
Comforts Foods
Since you will be totally down and out during a miscarriage, indulge yourself a little. There is no harm in picking up a bowl of potato chips or eat fried chicken. Although it does not add any nutrition to your diet, comfort foods are good for your mood.
