DJ Swapnil Wins Kingfisher Mirchimix

On October'12, Bangalore hosted the city finale of Kingfisher Strong ‘Mirchimix', one of India's biggest hunts for aspiring DJs. The call for entry phase received tremendous response. Bangalore is one of the ten cities in which such city finals will be happening over the month, in which the top 3 DJ will battle it out to be crowned the City Winner. DJ Swapnil showed the most promising talent in Bangalore, when he wooed and entertained the young audience with his groovy music and foot-tapping tunes, while DJ Apoorv & DJ Bappa showed tremendous talent as well.

The three talented DJs had to impress the venerable judges - The very talented Aindrita Ray and Prajwal Devaraj, one of the leading contemporary actors of Kannada movies. Also on the panel was Namma Balcony Baadshah RJ Avinash of Bitti Ticket show on Radio Mirchi. It was a daunting task for the venerable judges to choose just one winner amongst the three competing DJs, for they were, at the end of the day mixing the blockbuster, eternally popular disco songs of the one and only Bappi Da.

From here, the selected DJs of each city will finally get a one in a million opportunity, craved by every DJ composer- to perform live for a massive audience, with a living legend who has shaped disco music in India. Winners get a chance to show their talent alongside Bappi Da at the Grand Finale Kingfisher Strong Mirchimix at Nicco Park, Kolkata.

The aim is to bring out the best among the Indian youth whilst ‘Celebrating Indian Music'. This is our second year of association with MirchiMix; the folk music theme received a great response last year and the disco theme this edition is sure to capture the imagination of the contestants! Being associated with a renowned musician like Bappi Lahiri is also a leveraging factor in bringing together music enthusiasts and DJs. Given the amount of talent that will be unearthed out of this show, Kingfisher strong is delighted to be a part of this campaign".

‘Mirchi mix' is a nationwide DJ hunt presented by Radio Mirchi & Kingfisher Strong Power Soda. The contest aims to bring the best out of the DJs as they are required to mix beats in a thematic contest, this year the theme being Disco. To fulfill their dream to make it big, young aspiring DJs were given the challenge to remix well known disco songs of Bappi Lahiri to give it a fresh spin.
Other than Bangalore, the city finales will be held in Delhi, Jaipur, Pune, Goa, Lucknow, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai & Mumbai.
