Myths vs Facts: Itchy Palms Doesn’t Mean That Money Is Coming Your Way
You may be aware of the common superstition that if your palms are itching, you will be getting money. That's pretty exciting, isn't it?
As it turns out, if your palms are itching, you might lose some money because you will have to see a doctor for a consultation, so I apologize for blowing your bubble.

Confused?
In spite of the irritating, burning itch on your hands, itchy palms are rarely a sign of a more serious problem. That's the good news. If you experience itchy palms, this can be a sign of a chronic skin condition that must be treated frequently.
In spite of the fact that it may never be known what causes itchy palms, there are many natural causes of the condition.
What Causes Itchy Palms?
1. Psoriasis
Known as psoriasis, this common skin condition causes uncontrolled growth of skin cells, not allowing them to naturally shed. Instead, they pile up on your skin surface. In addition to itching, psoriasis can lead to red blisters, sometimes with silvery white scales, painful, swollen joints etc.
Although psoriasis is chronic, you may only see outbreaks infrequently or on a temporary basis rather than experiencing a constant condition [1].
2. Dry skin
Skin can become dry due to winter weather, which can lead to itching and irritation [2].
3. An injury to the skin
Your hands' sensitive skin can be irritated by certain chemicals and substances. Scrubbing or brushing your hands can also irritate your skin. This can lead to dryness, peeling, and itching [3].
4. Allergic reaction
An allergic reaction to something you touch may cause you to experience itchy palms. The itching may not occur immediately; it may take several hours before the itching begins.

5. Eczema
Occasionally, eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, causes patches of coloured skin in the affected area. A person may develop small bumps that stick up from the skin. Some people will have red patches, while others may have brown or grey patches. Eczema flares and bursts, leaving the skin dry and cracked [4].
Like psoriasis, outbreaks come and go. Symptoms may last for a few days or weeks and then disappear.
6. Diabetes
Diabetes can cause itchy palms due to poor blood circulation, and poor blood circulation can lead to itchy skin. However, most diabetics experience itching in their legs rather than on their hands [5].
How To Treat Itchy Palms?
The type of treatment you receive depends on the cause of the itching in your palms. The sooner you receive treatment based on your symptoms or condition, the faster you will be able to recover [6].
If you suffer from dry skin, you may find that applying a moisturiser several times per day may ease the itching. Look for moisturisers that contain glycerin, lactic acid, or topical urea, as well as moisturisers that tend to decrease water loss, such as petroleum jelly/ointments.

Your doctor will assist you with the appropriate treatment for other conditions such as diabetes or psoriasis.
On A Final Note...
According to the myth, if you itch all the time in the right place on your body or right hand, then you're going to lose future wealth - well, that's possible, because you need to get your itchy pam checked out.
