Aishwarya Rai Marks 19 Years With Abhishek Bachchan In Anniversary Post, From Co-Stars To Marriage
On April 20, 2026, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan marked 19 years of marriage with Abhishek Bachchan by sharing a simple family photo with their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan. What makes this post stand out is the fact that Aishwarya doesn't often share photos featuring Abhishek on her Instagram.
Most of her updates tend to focus on her photoshoots, solo appearances at events or moments with Aaradhya, which makes this family frame feel a little more significant. Here's a closer look at the post that has everyone talking, and a timeline of the couple's journey together.
What Aishwarya Rai Posted
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shared family photographs on Instagram to mark her 19th wedding anniversary with Abhishek Bachchan. One picture features the couple along with their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan where Aishwarya is holding a bouquet.
Another has Abhishek hugging both Aishwarya and his daughter Aaradhya affectionately, all of them having the brightest of smiles on their faces. And the caption had a heart emoji which said more than words could. This approach keeps the focus entirely on the three of them and the occasion they are marking.
Abhishek Bachchan And Aishwarya Rai: When It Started As A Professional Equation
Their first interaction goes back to the early 2000s when they worked on 'Dhai Akshar Prem Ke'. At the time, it was simply two actors collaborating.
They crossed paths again in projects like 'Kuch Naa Kaho' and later appeared together in 'Bunty Aur Babli'. What's noticeable in hindsight is how often they ended up sharing screen space before anything personal was ever confirmed.
Somewhere Along The Way, They Felt For Each Other
By the mid-2000s, things had changed. During films like 'Umrao Jaan' and 'Dhoom 2', their bond deepened. Abhishek has spoken in interviews about realising his feelings around this phase, more like something that built gradually while they were working together.
The Proposal That Led To Everything Else
In early 2007, after the premiere of 'Guru' in New York, Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya. Soon after, on January 14, 2007, they got engaged in a private ceremony at the Bachchan residence. That's when their relationship moved from speculation to something official.
A Wedding That Stayed Close To Home
On April 20, 2007, they got married in Mumbai in a ceremony that blended multiple traditions. It was widely covered, but the core of it remained family-focused.
Even today, that balance-public life on one side and a controlled private space on the other continues to define how they navigate things.
Becoming A Family
In November 2011, they welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya. Since then, most glimpses of their personal life have come through occasional appearances, events, or posts like the recent anniversary one. They've both spoken about partnership in interviews about figuring things out together rather than fitting into fixed roles.
19 Years Later, The Tone Hasn't Changed
That brings things back to the present. Nineteen years into marriage, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's anniversary post didn't try to say too much. It didn't need to. A shared frame with her family with the three of them together, that's what they chose to put out there to mark the occasion.
