Do Unhappy Marriages Increase The Risk Of Heart Attacks In Men?
Marital issues can cause more serious things than just stress!
A popular, witty quote about marriage goes like this, "happy wife, happy life". Most of you would be familiar with this quote, right?
It basically means that if your wife is happy in a marriage, then your life is made much easier and better!
The above quote is on a lighter note, but in reality, we all know that a marriage can work and both the partners can lead a satisfactory life, only if both of them are happy!
Now, we know that a marriage is an extremely huge commitment made by two people who are willing to be domestic partners and build a family.
A marriage does not just involve two partners, but later on it could also involve their children and the relationship between the husband and wife reflects on the children too.
So, in most cultures, during the wedding ritual, phrases like "in sickness and in health", "till death do us part", etc., are used, to let the couple know the gravity of the social institution they are getting into.
Now, just like any other type of relationship, even a marriage has its ups and downs and hardly any marriage is perfect.
For instance, we do get into arguments and fights with our close friends, parents and siblings and a marriage is no different.
So, it is up to the partners to understand each other and work through their problems in a mature way, so that they can lead their lives peacefully.
However, the unfortunate fact is that, more often than not, a marriage can strain the relationship between the partners due to a number of reasons, making them stressed out, unhappy or depressed.
Now, a new research study has stated that an unhappy marriage can increase the risk of heart problems, especially in men. Find out how, here.

So, stress is also one of the main causes for heart ailments, especially in men, as stress can produce a high level of cortisol hormone in men, which can increase the cholesterol level to affect the heart.
A recent research study stated that marital stress, caused by problems in a marriage, was one of the main causes for heart problems in men over the age of 60, according to surveys.
