Signs Of A Healthy Period
What are the signs and symptoms of a healthy period? In other words, what are the normal signs of menstruation? There are a couple of things associated with menstruation that women worry about thinking whether they are normal or not. Let us discuss them.
The first period, also known as menarche, most probably starts when a girl turns twelve or thirteen years old. Some get it as early as eight or nine years old while some do not start menstruating until they are fifteen or sixteen years old.

Women have on an average five hundred periods in their lifetime. Since all women are very different, the length of a period may differ from woman to woman. One woman could have a two day period while another woman could have a seven day period. So you should not worry if you have a period that lasts between two days to seven days.

Some women believe that they should have the period on the same date every month. They start worrying if it gets delayed by a few days. There is nothing to worry. This is perfectly normal. A menstrual cycle varies from twenty one days to thirty five days. There are reasons to worry if it is less than twenty one days and more than thirty five days.

The rate of flow is different for different women. Also, it is healthy to have a white discharge before and after your periods. Sexually active women and women who have gone through child birth have more vaginal discharge.

It is normal to get some pain during periods. You might also get mild cramps. Also, you might feel a bit weak and uncomfortable. However, if you suffer from unbearable pain accompanied by nausea and vomiting, it is not a normal sign. It can be due to endometriosis or due to cysts in the uterus.
