A research claims that if you are hooked on to your smartphones at all times, and feel that you cannot function without them, you might be more prone to depression, as this habit is known to increase restlessness and anxiety.

Bad Posture
If you are the one to slouch, then it may mean that you might be more prone to negative thoughts, leading to depression, is what a study has concluded. Sitting upright and walking with your shoulders straight is known to be a sign of positivity.

Also, social media can make it seem like people are happier than they seem, causing the viewer to develop feelings of envy and jealousy

Being In Toxic Relationships
If you are in a relationship that is emotionally abusive and you still continue to stay in such an environment, it might disturb your mental peace, causing anxiety and depression.

Smoking
Many researchers have opined that smoking can lead to depression, as it affects the functioning of certain neurotransmitters in the brain that are responsible in producing dopamine and serotonin, which are mood-regulating hormones.

Summer Weather
Studies have shown that people who are already prone to depressive tendencies might succumb to the disorder, mostly in summers, known as seasonal affective disorders (SAD), which are more common during summers.

Putting Off Things
Procrastination can also lead to depression, as goals go unachieved, leading to loss of self-esteem and confidence. When your confidence takes a blow, you are more prone to depressive tendencies.
