If you are a woman and observe blood in your urine after intercourse, then it is better to rush to the doctor to get the condition diagnosed.

There are several reasons behind peeing blood after intercourse. Some reasons can be ignored but if there is a serious condition behind, then you may need treatment.

Irrespective of the reasons, it causes great inconvenience because you may have to stay away intercourse until you figure out the actual problem behind the bleeding.

Here are some of the reasons for peeing blood after intercourse. However, ensure that you visit your doctor to figure out the actual reason.


Reason #1

Vigorous love making could sometimes tear skin either inside or outside the private parts. That could cause bleeding. A dip in estrogen levels and dryness could also cause injuries. Using lubricant could prevent such injuries.


Reason #2

Sometimes, even vaginal tract infections could also cause bleeding especially after lovemaking. It could be either yeast infection or any other infection. It is better to consult a doctor.


Reason #3

Sometimes, when your periods are irregular, then that could be the reason behind blood in the urine soon after making love. Keep a track of your cycles. If your period had been a bit late then the blood could be your period.


Reason #4

Certain types of cancers like kidney cancer, bladder cancer or prostate cancer could also cause bleeding.


Reason #5

Even kidney stones could result in blood in the urine. Only a doctor can tell you if that is the case.


Reason #6

In some women, a dislocated IUD could be the reason for bleeding. It is better to rush to the doctor to get the IUD placed in its position.


Reason #7

Serious disorders like anemia or Alport syndrome may also cause bleeding after intercourse.
