Are you hitting your 40's? It is the age when the body starts becoming saggy and you start gaining weight much faster than before? Metabolism slows down with age and your body starts finding it difficult to process food as effectively as it was doing before. Being fit at 40 is not as easy as it was at 20. Weight problems start hounding you and you begin to feel lazy and tired all the time. All these are the symptoms of ageing that is taking toll on your health. 40 is the age when you get serious about your health and well-being. This is the appropriate time when you should be very concerned about your life. So try to be fit at 40.
You are not that young chap anymore who used to skip breakfasts to pig out on dinner. At 40 you are getting old; your body is changing, so should you. If you start taking good care of your body at this age, you can avoid so many medical problems in future and have a fulfilling life. That is why ios becomes very important to be fit at 40.

So start working on your health is you are 40 plus and have best times of your life even when you hit 80.
Go for a checkup: If you have a medical condition, go for a medical checkup before starting any exercise program. Nowadays, it is very common to get all checkups done in the gyms at the time of joining, but always prefer authorized people or doctors for a clean chit to start workout. It is especially advisable for those people who were idle for a long time and just planning to start a workout.
Walk an hour daily: It is always good to walk, but when you are hitting 40, it becomes mandatory. Start walking daily. Start with 20 minutes and increase it gradually to an hour.
Join a good exercise program: The best thing to do when you reach this age is to start exercising. Rather than doing random exercises, join a good exercise program. You can take help from a fitness expert.
Aerobics- an easy way: For some people, exercise is boring. Aerobics is a way out for them. If you like to dance, aerobics is the thing for you. Join aerobics classes; move your body and stay fit.
Be positive, see the results: You hear people say they love their workout sessions, and you don't understand because you totally hate it. How can someone like his workout? Don't worry, it isn't just you. Everyone goes through it. Once you see your body getting back in shape you will also start loving your workout sessions.
Eat proper diet: It is a saying, ‘You are what you eat.' Eat good, be good. If possible, consult a dietician and make yourself a diet chart according to the needs of your body.
Surround yourself with like-minded people: You started an exercise program with enthusiasm but find yourself gradually losing interest in it. It happens with most of the people. The key is to be surrounded with like-minded people. They will inspire you when you are de-motivated and vice-versa.
Sleep well: Take proper sleep. It helps body repair all the cells that might have been damaged while exercising or due to other reasons.
Meditation, yoga: It is not only your physical appearance that changes when you hit 40 but there are changes in your mental state also. Do meditation and yoga to take care of your mental health.
Read good stuff, stay motivated:Read good books. Libraries are choc a bloc with motivational and inspirational titles. Read a few pages before you sleep. It keeps you positive and motivated.
