Why Are Teens Gaining Weight?
Earlier, only adults complained of weight gain problems. Weight loss was thus targeted on those adults only. However, these days you can easily find small kids and teens with heavy weight. And this has become a major concern for parents. So, what is it that is making kids and even highly active teens gaining weight so easily?
What makes the teens gain weight so tremendously? Is it lack of care or improper diet? Let us brief out the reasons behind the young teens who are gaining weight.

Unhealthy diet: Teens hardly follow a healthy diet. They are too careless to bother about eating healthy and nutritious foods. They only crave for fast foods and street foods and hardly have control over their taste buds. Thus, hogging on junk foods lead to weight gain among them.
Improper servings: These days teens do not like to eat home cooked food but when they get outside, they can fill their plate and turn into a gourmet. Skipping meals or having meals at wrong time is also one of the factors behind gaining weight. Worst part comes when they eat only one chapati but will have two burgers very easily. This improper servings lead to weight gain.
Drinking: Many of the teens do not know that alcohol has fats and calories that deposit in the body thus adding extra pounds. Teens feel that they are keeping up with the rising trend of spoiled kids. Alcohol not only increases weight but can also damage your kidneys. Beer is one of the worst alcohol that increases body weight to a great extent. All the pot belly is stored because of beer. If you drink beer very often then it's time to quit it completely.
No physical activities: Teens are no more interested in activities. A life of leisure and luxury given by parents is a key factor behind spoiling their health. Going in car or riding a bike has become the mode of transportation. These days, teen do not like walking. They get tired easily. This ultimately makes them lazy. Moreover, play stations and video games have curbed the changes of indulging in outdoor games.
Lack of sleep: Staying awake late in the night to watch a movies, chat with friends are few reasons for lack of sleep. Teenage romance also affects sleep and this takes a toll on the health. If you miss sleep, you tend to increase weight. Lack of sleep not only leads to weight gain but also affects the mental state of mind. Restlessness, anxiety, fatigue and laziness are few common sufferings that occur due to sleeplessness.
