How To Make Diet Foods Tasty?

When you are on a diet you need a lot of determination to stick on to your food chart. If the low fat foods you are eating can be made delicious then it will give you the motivation you need. Even if you are not on a diet and just a health freak; even then you would always prefer to have tasty health food instead of bland ones.

Tricks To Make Low Fat Food Tasty:
1. Add some good spices for flavor. Most people complain that diet food is 'bland'. For example, diet cheese tastes like eating paper! So whats the harm if you spice things up a bit. Spices won't add calories. Use some good spices that will not have adverse effects on your body.
- Pepper both ground and whole gives a very strong flavor. Try adding it to your soups and salads and you will notice the difference.
- Oregano is a widely popular spice. But although it owes its popularity to pizza you don't need to have it only with junk food. For healthy tasty meals sprinkle some oregano on boiled chicken and see how delicious it becomes.
- Thyme is mostly used with Italian delicacies sinfully doused in cheese. But whats the harm if you add it to your bowl of sprouts.
- What you cannot use are strong spices like dry red chillies or red chilli powder because they are not exactly diet friendly.
2. Add aromatic herbs. The smell of the food is often more important than the taste. We smell the food before eating it and thus often if dish smells good we have already made up our mind that it is tasty. Herbs will give both flavor and aroma and therefore are a sure shot way to make diet food tasty.
- Coriander leaves are a great garnish for all foods. Garnish your salad with chopped coriander leaves and it will change your outlook to tasty healthy food.
- Curry leaves have such a strong flavor that it can overpower everything else. Just add few curry leaves to your a preparation of vegetables that is otherwise non spicy and see how alive it tastes.
3. Use low fat replacements. Did you know that beaten yoghurt can be a very good replacement for mayonnaise. So if you feel like having a sumptuous Russian salad while you are on a diet you can go ahead and have it. Use the low fat version of butter and skimmed milk for healthy tasty meals. These little changes make a lot of difference.
