Top 5 High Fibre Foods

Here is a list of some of the nutrient groups of foods with high fibre that you need to have to stay healthy and have clear bowels.
Top 5 High Fibre Foods:
1. Bran or Cereals: All the normal cereals we have as a part of routine food have lots of fibre in them. Rice, wheat, corn (flour), gram and oats are dietary fibres. Apart from giving us ample roughage they also provide magnesium which is an essential mineral for the proper functioning of the body and are the best source of vitamin B6. Having said that these foods are rich in fibre it is pertinent to note that they can give higher fibre nutrition in the crude form. Whole wheat bread is better than white bread, brown rice more nutritious than polished rice and crude corn is the highest fibre food.
2. Beans: Beans are one of the best sources of fibre in your diet. The best part is they retain their fibre even after cooking. All kinds of beans can be had for fibre like french beans, kidney beans, string beans and the most potent are navy beans.
3. Berries: You must be knowing that they are rich in vitamin C and anti oxidants; they are also great for the kidneys but very few know that berries can be your perfect high fibre diet. But you must be thinking that how can tiny little berries give you fibre? Berries have miniscule seeds that increases the fibre content of your food substantially. So take your pick from strawberries, gooseberries, raspberries, blueberries and more.
4. Green Leafy Vegetables: Not all green leaves of plants have great nutritional value but they all do have a considerable amount of roughage which is healthy for you. It is thus prudent to choose the greens that give you fibre along with other essential nutrients; for example spinach which is the most favourite among leafy vegetables. Other than that there are mustard plant leaves, fenugreek leaves, pumpkin leaves and turnip greens.
5. Nuts: Just like berries do not judge the nuts with their size. They are small but they pack real punch of fibre into your daily diet. You can call nuts power food because just a handful can give you good fats, proteins and they are energy rich too. So begin your day by munching on some peanuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, etc.
For some good health tips include these high fibre foods in your diet.
