7 Remedies For Chest Congestion
What causes chest congestion? Well, accumulation of mucus in the respiratory tract could also make you experience heaviness in the chest.

Mild pain in the chest, cough, breathing issues, irritation and dizziness are some of the symptoms of chest congestion.
Even common cold could cause this condition. But in the majority of the cases, flu, TB, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia or other allergies or infections could be the reasons.

Sometimes, home remedies may work but it is important to visit a doctor. Also, get enough sleep and boost your immunity. Make sure that you don't have dust particles in the air of your bedroom. Avoid dairy and eat fruits and vegetables.

Remedy #1
Mix a pinch of salt in a cup of warm water and gargle 3 times a day. This could remove mucus and reduce irritation.

Remedy #2
Turmeric is anti-inflammatory. Gargle with turmeric water. Again this remedy is NOT for people with acidity, gallstones or ulcers.

Remedy #3
Even onion can cure certain infections. It can also help in removing mucus. Consume 3 teaspoons of onion juice.

Remedy #4
You can also inhale steam to find relief from congestion. You may need to add eucalyptus oil to a small vessel of hot water and inhale the steam. Children, pregnant mothers and people with high BP should NOT try this remedy.

Remedy #5
Even lemon water with honey can do a good job. Vitamin C can dissolve mucus. Honey can control cough.

Remedy #6
You can also place a cloth which is dipped in warm water on your chest after squeezing the excess water in it.

Remedy #7
Even ginger is anti-inflammatory and is good for curing congestion. It contains some compounds which control the secretion of mucus. Try ginger tea without adding milk.
