Tomato Chutney, Tangy Chutney
Tomato Chutney Recipe -
Ingredients :
1. 2 Tomatoes (chopped)
2. 2 red chillies (dry)
3. 1 ' tsp chilli powder
4. 1 tsp mustard seeds
5. 1 tsp urad dal
6. 1 tsp methi seeds
7. Pinch of asafoetida
8. Salt to taste
9. 1/2 tsp sugar
10. 1 tsp coriander seeds
11.1 tsp Oil
Method :
1. Heat oil in a pan and add a teaspoon of mustard seeds (fry until it crackles),
urad dal, methi seeds, coriander seeds , asafoetida, chilli powder. Fry for a minute.
2. Add the chopped tomatoes, sugar and salt.
3. Fry until the tomatoes are cooked. Allow it to cool. Grind the mixture into fine paste.
Season chutney with fried mustard seeds and dry red chillies. Tasty Tomato Chutney ready to serve.
Relish the spicy tomato chutney with steaming idlis, hot dosas or even with ghee and plain rice.
