Shahi Toast: An Amazing Sweet Dish
Shahi toast is among one of the most awesome Indian sweets recipe. This bread recipe is very simple and hardly requires few minutes. Shahi toast is actually a kind of sweet toast that is made with milk, sugar and a lot of dry fruits and nuts. And what makes this bread recipe all the more special is the fact that it is liked by almost all people.
Even if your kid does not love milk this is an easy sweet toast recipe with milk that you can try for them. Shahi toast is one of the bread recipes that has gained popularity all over the globe. Shahi toast is a highly popular Indian sweets recipe. You may even include this in the list of sweet dish on any occasion in the family. Here is a simple recipe for making shahi toast.

Serves: 4-5
Preparation Time: 5-10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15-20 minutes
Ingredients
Bread- 5-6 slices
Milk- ½ litre
Cardamom Seeds- 1-2tsp
Saffron- 1pinch
Sugar- 1-2 cups
Almonds- ½ cup (finely chopped)
Cashews- 1 cup
Raisins- ½ cup (finely chopped)
Pistachios- ½ cup (finely chopped)
Vegetable Oil- ½ cup
Procedure
Take the bread pieces and cut them into 4 pieces using a knife. Take off the sides and throw them off.
Place a deep bottomed frying pan over the gas oven and add the vegetable oil to it. Keep on a medium flame.
Deep fry all the bread pieces in them over a low flame till they turn golden in colour and then take them off and keep aside.
Keep the milk in another deep bottomed frying pan over the gas oven and keep it on a simmer over a low flame. Add the cardamom seeds and saffron to it. Also add the sugar and reduce the milk to half its original volume.
Soak the bread pieces in half the volume of this milk for 2-3 minutes.
Now keep them on a plate and pour in the remaining milk mover it. Garnish with the almonds, cashews, raisins and pistachios.
Your shahi toast is now ready to be served.
Serve it either hot or cold to your guests. You will get the delicious taste of it either ways.
