Homemade Strawberry Jam Recipe

Strawberry Jam
The jams that are available in packaged bottles contain pectin and artificial flavours. The high concentration of sugar added just to preserve them for long are not very good for your kid's health. Know how to prepare tasty jams with strawberries.

Benefits: Fresh strawberries are much needed fruits. They contain vitamins, potassium, calcium and phosphorus. Purifies blood and strengthens gums.

Homemade Strawberry Jam Recipe
Ingredients:

  1. 2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled
  2. 4 cups sugar (white, powdered)
  3. 1/4 cup lemon juice
  4. Pinch of salt

Strawberry Jam Preparation:
1. In a blender, coarsley blend all the strawberries (you can also crush it manually).
2. In thick bottom pan, add the crushed strawberries, sugar and lemon juice. Stir well until the mixture gets thick and boiling. Turn off the stove.
3. Transfer all the contents of the pan to an air tight glass jar (see to it that you don't seal the headspace).
4. Refrigerate / freeze the mixture for about 10 minutes (for it to become jelly). Tasty amd fresh strawberry jam is ready to enjoy.
Spread the homemade jam (strawberry sauce) over bread or rotis and enjoy the sweet taste.
