Spinach Pakora: Raksha Bandhan Spcl
Raksha Bandhan is a occasion where brothers can make some demands from their sisters to cook their favourite dishes. Most sisters know how to cook what their brother likes. That is why; Raksha Bandhan recipes are special gifts from the sisters to their brothers. Our reader Sonia Jacob shared this spinach pakora recipe that is her brother Isaac Anish's favourite dish.
YUMMY PAKORAS FOR EVENING SNACKS
To try the spinach pakora recipe, you need not have a lot of fancy ingredients. It is fairly simple recipe. But the good part is that it is really delicious. You can try this Raksha Bandhan recipe even if you are an amateur cook. All you need to do is follow the steps given below religiously.

Serves: 4
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- Spinach - 200 gms (chopped)
- Onion- 1 (chopped)
- Gram flour or besan- 300 gms (1 1/2 cup)
- Salt - 3/4 tea spoon (or according to the taste)
- Green chilli s- 2-4 (chopped)
- Red chilli powder - less than 1/4 tea spoon.
- Kasoori methi - 1 tbsp
- Garam masala- ½ tsp
- Oil - 2 cups
Procedure
- Take a large mixing bowl and keep the chopped spinach, green chillies and onion in it.
- Now, add besan to this bowl. Sprinkle salt, red chilli powder, kasuri methi and garam masala on the bowl.
- Now, add water to the bowl and mix the ingredients.
- Make pakoras out of the batter by rolling it into balls between your palms.
- Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan until it steams and put the balls into the pan.
- Deep fry the pakoras for about 5 minutes on low flame.
- Strain the spinach pakoras on a tissue paper.
Sonia serves the palak pakoras with pudina chutney. You can serve it with a chutney or sauce of your choice.
