Peas Dahi Vada
Ingredients:
2 Cups Potatoes
¾ Cup Peas
' Cup Coconut, Grated
1tsp Garam Masala
2tbsp Coriander Leaves
Juice of half Lemon
A pinch of Soda
Salt to taste
1ltr Butter Milk
4 Cups Beaten Curds
1tsp Chili powder
For the Batter :
1 Cup Black Whole Gram/Saboot Urad dal
A pinch of Soda
Salt to taste
1tsp Asafoetida
Method:
Soak Urad dal for 3 hours. Grind to a paste and add a pinch of Soda, Salt and Asafoetida. Boil Potatoes and mash them. Saute Peas and mash them.
Add Peas to the Potatoes and mix well. To this add Coconut, Salt, Soda, Garam Masala, Coriander leaves and Lemon Juice.
Divide into balls and slightly flatten them.
Dip each Vada into the batter and deep fry till golden. Soak in buttermilk for sometime. Arrange in a serving tray and pour beaten curds over it and garnish with Chili powder and Coriander Leaves.
