Avoiding Covetousness

By Staff

Punmaiyil kaatchi yavar.
Those who have learnt to see straight by keeping their senses under restraint,
Never think of other"s possessions even in the context of their extreme want.
The sin of covetousness should not be indulged in, even under circumstances of dire need. The good ones who are clear in their minds on the rights and wrongs of it, will not even entertain such a thought.
This does not, however, detract from society"s obligations to lend a helping hand to those who are in dire need by way of extending social service and of ensuring social justice.
