You hear of marriages breaking up quite suddenly these days. You look at a couple and think that they are happy but then you hear that they are suddenly heading for divorce. When you dig a little further, you get to know that the guy decided walk out on this wife or the wife just got bugged and told the her husband to leave. Why is it that married men leave seemingly 'happy marriages'? What does it take to make a man leave his wife?

It is not that married men end happy marriages because they fall in love with someone else or they are compelled to cheat. Most often men walk out of marriages even when they are not having an extra marital affair. Married men leave their wives and families because they feel trapped by marriage.

I have lost respect for you

This is not because the guy caught his wife in bed with someone else or she forgot to pay their credit card bills. Men often lose respect for their wives because when they quit their job and become 'domestic'.

We don't have fun anymore

Well you fell in love with carefree college girl who ten years later is a responsible mother, wife and career woman. But men are still not happy. They still want that exuberance of youth that attracted them.

I am not your priority anymore

How selfish can men be? How can you be the priority when you have fathered 2 children and they have to be taken care of. Do you expect your wife to let the children take care of themselves when she attends to you.

You pushed me out of the door

And exactly how would that be? Did she physically throw you out of the house or is it that you did not find any better reason.

You are not into sex these days

Sex does become routine after a point of time but married couples are supposed to work on their intimacy especially after having kids. It would be good if men tried to seduce their wives instead of behaving like a sex god who needs to be pleased.

You don't have time for me

Well that is because she has a career and she also has to tend to the family. And if you you have lots of free time at 40, then you are not doing well in your career or you must be unemployed.
