Banana chips is a popular snack that people of all ages love to eat. It is great to have this when you are hungry or just need something to munch on.
This healthy and tasty snack is made from the banana fruit that is still raw. The fruit is peeled and sliced into very thin pieces. It is deep fried and then seasoned with salt and other spices.
You can make it as an evening snack to go with your cup of tea or coffee. Try preparing this tasty snack at home by following our step-by-step procedure with images. Also, have a look at the video below.

Plantain/raw banana - 1
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Chilli powder - ½ tsp
Turmeric powder - a pinch

1. Slice the plantain/raw banana into very thin slices.
2. Heat oil in a kadhai. Make sure the oil is boiling hot before frying the banana slices.
3. Gently drop in the plantain/raw banana slices. Fry them till they turn golden in colour.
4. In a small bowl, mix salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder.
5. Sprinkle this on the fried plantain and gently mix/toss.
6. This is now ready to be served.
- 1. The raw plantain must be thinly sliced.
- 2. Make sure that the oil is very hot before frying the slices. 3. Be careful while dropping the plantain pieces into the hot oil.
