Smart Ways To Reduce Pregnancy Swelling
Pregnancy and a swelling body goes hand in hand. We are not just referring to your swelling belly but the swelling all over your body. Swollen feet and extremities are particularly common during the later stages of pregnancy. There are two main causes for body swelling during pregnancy; water retention in body and increase in the blood volume.
Now you cannot really do anything to prevent the increased blood flow in your body. But there are many ways to fight water retention in the body. Here are some effective ways to cure swelling during pregnancy.

Be Mobile
If you stop moving around altogether, then you might have more swelling during your pregnancy. Movement helps your muscles be in shape. Sitting idle obviously increases water retention in the body. So go for a walk every day and do exercises that have been approved by your doctor.
Soak In Water
Being inside water can help you feel lighter and buoyant. So you can try swimming to cure swelling during pregnancy. If that is not possible, then soaking your body in a tub might also help. But make sure that the water is not too hot because heat is bad for pregnant women.
Put Your Feet Up
Sitting at office for a long period of time may lead to swollen feet. Your body needs blood circulation and sitting makes the blood accumulate at the extremities of your body. So keep a small stool under your desk and keep your feet up on it.
Lie On Your Left Side
Pregnant women are often most comfortable lying on their left side. This is because, lying on your left helps improve circulation. Try to lie on your left side as much as possible.
Reduce Salt Intake
When you are pregnant, your body tends to retain more water. This is called oedema. Salt as you know helps retain more water in the body. So reduce your salt intake to the minimum. This helps cure swelling during pregnancy.
