Remedies For Dry Feet During Pregnancy
Why do feet get dry during pregnancy? Itchy and dry feet are fairly the most common issue when you are pregnant. Dry feet during pregnancy depend on how well you keep your skin moisturised. Many pregnant women
complain that they have started experiencing dry cracked feet. Usually while being pregnant, it can be difficult to spend some time moisturising your feet since there is the chance of you not being able to check or reach them. Moreover, hormonal changes can rob off the oil from the skin which leads to feet drying out.
There is the chance of skin getting dry more quickly at the time of pregnancy as extreme body fluids are needed to maintain the growing baby. Sustaining hydration particularly on your feet can be difficult during pregnancy; however doctors usually consider negligency as the major cause for dry feet during pregnancy. One can also take regular care of their feet by getting a pedicure done at any salon or spa once a week. Here are some of tips to treat dry feet during pregnancy.

Apply moisture
If you want to soften your alligator feet, try applying oatmeal based products. Try to moisturise your feet often and use cotton socks to hold the moisture. If none of the moisturisers are working for you, then consult your doctor about over the counter lotions or creams to remove the dryness.
Use good anti bacterial soaps
Ask a dermatologist for a good anti-bacterial soap to wash your feet and treat them. These kinds of soaps can also help to prevent infections when your feet is cracked. Also shun away from deodorant soaps for the time being as it removes the moisture from the skin.
Lemon juice
Soak your feet in lemon juice for 10 to 15 minutes to keep the skin pliable and avoid cracking or dry feet during pregnancy. This remedy to treat dry feet during pregnancy should be done once a week for a few hours.
Add bath oils
Limit taking showers to 15 minutes. Before taking a bath, add a few drops of bath oils into your tub, however be cautious as there is the chance of the surface getting slippery. Using moisturising oils like olive oil, grape seed oil, and jojoba oil can help exfoliate the dead skin and to soften dry feet during pregnancy.
Petroleum Jelly
After washing your feet, use pumice stone to exfoliate your skin. Apply petroleum jelly to each foot and make sure to massage well to heal the dry skin. After the petroleum jelly has been completely soaked up by each foot. Wear a plastic grocery bag on your feet and tie up the ends around the legs. Remove them only after an hour and later apply lotion to your feet. This remedy is good to treat dry feet during pregnancy in the winters.
Wear sunscreen
If you want to take care of dry feet during pregnancy, always wear a sunscreen with SPF 15 when you venture out. Your best bet to protect your dry feet is to use sunscreen before you step out. Also make sure to apply thick layers of sunscreen lotion on all parts of exposed skin.
