Pregnancy is a unique experience. Every woman experiences it differently from the other. That is why, it is hard to define a standard set of pregnancy problems. Blackouts during pregnancy are not as common as nausea or back pain. However, having blackouts during pregnancy is not exactly unheard of.
The only problem is that blackouts pose a very big threat to pregnant women. Although your pregnancy may not be at risk, having a blackout on the road or staircase can result in a fall. The fall can cause an accidental miscarriage or injury to your baby. That is why, if you are having blackouts during pregnancy, then you must know why.
Here are some of the reasons for having blackouts during pregnancy.

Ectopic Pregnancy
The first signs of pregnancy problems can be seen within the first few weeks. If you have an ectopic pregnancy, that is the feotus has implanted in the tubes, then you will have blackouts and accompanied by sharp pains on one side.
Not Eating For Sometime
Your baby is like a parasite and will suck all the nutrition for you. The needs of the foetus will be met before you. That is why pregnant women are advised to eat every couple of hours. If you don't eat for a long time, your glucose levels may fall and you can have a blackout during pregnancy.
Standing For A Long Time
After entering the second trimester, standing for a long period of time may not be such a good idea. This makes the blood pool in your legs cutting off oxygen supply to your brain. This can lead to instant blackouts that make you dizzy and fall.
Blood Pressure Fluctuation
The hormonal changes in your body can cause a lot of blood pressure fluctuations. If your blood pressure falls rapidly due to some reason, you will blackout and start sweating profusely. It can also make you nauseous for a while.
Diabetes
If you are suffering from gestational diabetes, you may have lots of blackouts during pregnancy. Diabetes will complicate your pregnancy problems. You have to change your diet and eat on an hourly basis to avoid blackouts.
Anemia
Becoming deficient in iron is not uncommon during pregnancy. You need to keep a regular check on your haemoglobin levels and supplement your diet with iron pills accordingly.
