During pregnancy, it is said that women should avoid all types of non-vegetarian foods as it is unhealthy for the foetus. But there are some types of food which you can add to your daily diet. Experts say that non-vegetarian foods have a lot of potassium and cholesterol in it which make you put on a lot of weight. The oil which is emitted from the non-vegetarian dish too are not good for a pregnant woman to consume on a daily diet. However, the meat of any non-vegetarian dish should be cooked healthy in order for you to consume it.
Below are some of the best non-vegetarian foods you can consume during pregnancy. You should make a note that these foods which are listed below should be consumed to a minimum when you are pregnant. An over-indulgence of these non-vegetarian foods during pregnancy is not good for the growing foetus as the pregnant mother can suffer from stomach problems like diarrhoea.

Chicken dishes
During pregnancy, chicken is one of the safest non-vegetarian dishes you can consume. However, make sure that you do not indulge in spicy chicken treats as it could lead to an upset stomach. Mild chicken dishes like Malai chicken is good for pregnant women.

Turkey treats
Turkey is yet another lean non-vegetarian food you can consume during pregnancy. Turkey sandwiches or turkey roast is a safer option for you to enjoy in a minimum amount during pregnancy.

Lamb curry
Lamb is a soft non-vegetarian food you can consume during pregnancy. It is rich in proteins and vitamins too. It is advisable for pregnant women to have mutton when compared to any other meat during pregnancy.

Beef roast
The delicious beef roast is yet another pregnancy craving which most pregnant women face. Red meat should be consumed in a very less quantity as it is high in cholesterol levels which can make you put on excess weight during pregnancy.

Non-vegetarian Soups
It is the best non-vegetarian food you can consume during pregnancy. Soups are high in Vitamins A and C. It also contains iron which is good for the foetus growth.

Fish fingers
There are some pregnant women who do not like the smell of fish. However, fish fingers is a healthy non-vegetarian food to consume during pregnancy.
