Shopping during pregnancy is double the fun that it usually is. Why? Obviously because you will be doing some baby shopping too, so you are shopping for 'two'. Women are famous for going on a shopping spree for pregnancy clothes but is that all they buy? Not really. Your maternity shopping list will comprise of much more than just clothes. There are a thousand things that a pregnant woman might need and as nobody around here has unlimited cash, you must plan your shopping list carefully.

Here are some tips to help you plan your pregnancy shopping in an organised way.

Pregnancy Shopping List:

1. Pregnancy Clothes: No matter how much your husband scowls you need to buy maternity clothes for sure. It is your most basic requirement for health and comfort. However you will start needing pregnancy clothes from the middle of the second trimester so until then you can utilise your resources for other things.

2. Maternity Undergarments: There may be a general increase in your bust size from the time you are pregnant so you will need to buy these in the first trimester itself. Try to buy a bigger size as your size will continue to increase and slip in a few nursing bras as well because you will need them eventually.

3. Maternity Shoes: This is an essential investment because you need special flat and comfortable shoes during pregnancy. Consider the possibility that your feet might swell in the last trimester before buying shoes.

4. Maternity Books: This is the most important item of your pregnancy shopping list so do not be guilty about it. Pregnancy and motherhood is a new challenging experience for you, so read up as much as you can. It help you cope better.

5. Craving Foods: It is better to keep some healthy craving foods advised by your doctor handy instead of reaching out for unhealthy ones when you are craving. Chocolates, popcorn and ice creams are all permitted.

6. Maternity Cosmetics: The most important item in this category is cocoa butter cream to avoid stretch marks. You can have a list of others but they will mainly be feel good things.

7. Baby Shopping: You will need a book for baby names to begin with. What will your baby want most when it is born? Toys. All expectant mothers like to wander in the toys section of baby stores and dream about their unborn child. Buy toys that you think will be interesting. Some basic baby clothes can be brought in the last few weeks of your pregnancy. The most interesting part of this shopping will be the nursery furnishings; your baby's crib, wall paper, etc.

8. Feel Good Things: Most pregnant women like to indulge in feel good things like stockings, hot night wear and even jewelery. If it gives you an emotional high and you can afford it, then go for it.
