One of the wonderful characteristics of human breast milk is the way it changes to meet the baby's needs as he/she grows. The nutrients found in breast milk is shocking. According to sources, it is said that the milk produced by the mother at different stages tastes and even looks different. For a premature baby, the breast milk contains a whole of nutrients to increase the baby's strength. The milk produced when the baby is full-term is also different in colour and taste, thus having varied components for the child.
Although all breast milk contains the same nutritional and protective components needed most by each baby at every age, it is important for you to understand the nutrients found in breast milk. Here is a nutrition chart to show exactly what your baby is receiving while suckling on your breasts. By this, you will know how wonderful breast milk is good for your baby.

Though the protein content of human milk is generally low, the types of amino acids that make up these proteins are important. One particular amino acid called taurine, is found in large amounts in human breastmilk. Studies show that this taurine has an important role in the development of the brain. This is one of the best proteins found in breastmilk which is why it is good for the baby.
9 THINGS THAT REDUCE BREAST MILK SUPPLY

Did you know why it is so easy for the baby to digest when being breast fed? The best nutrient found in breast milk is the fat. It is this fat in human milk which comes with an enzyme called lipase. The enzyme is then broken down into smaller globules so this important nutrient can be better absorbed into the bloodstream of the baby. This fat is a valuable source of energy for babies especially the premature babies. It is needed for them to grow and feel energetic since their digestive systems are very immature.

The highest nutrition levels found in breast milk is these three minerals calcium, phosphorus, and iron. In breastmilk these minerals are present in forms that have high bioavailability. For example, 50 to 75 percent of the iron in breastmilk is absorbed by the baby from the mother.

The other enzymes besides lipase are available to aid infant digestion. Epidermal growth factor, present in human milk in significant amounts will help to promote the development of tissues in the digestive tract.

The hormones present in breast milk will influence a baby's metabolism, growth, and physiology rate. According to studies, the fatty acid in breast milk also promotes the growth of a baby's brain and retina. To some extent, the nutrients in breast milk also enhance cognitive development.
